In a quiet grove touched by autumn’s light, birch trees drift between wakefulness and dream. Their golden leaves shimmer like thoughts of peace, inviting the viewer into a moment of stillness and wonder.
[SOLD] Acrylic on a 24"x24" canvas.
Created with acrylic and modeling paste, this piece reflects that peaceful moment when the day softens into evening and the birch tree glows with the last touch of sunlight. A mix of warmth, texture, and calm — one of my favorite moments to paint.
[SOLD] Acrylic on a 24"x24" canvas.
While the world outside turns to shades of gold and rust, I found myself painting memories of spring. ‘Whispers of Spring’ is a celebration of hope, color, and the beauty waiting just beyond winter’s edge. This painting was donated to support a worthy cause, allowing my art to contribute to something meaningful and make a positive difference in the lives of others.
Acrylic on a 24"x24" canvas.
In this piece, I wanted to capture the fleeting beauty of change — the way one season fades into another, like a dream dissolving in light. The warmth of autumn, the memory of summer, and the cool whispers of winter all seem to merge at the horizon, creating a mirage of time and color. It’s a reminder that every ending holds the glow of a new beginning.
[SOLD] Acrylic on a 20"x20" canvas.
A vibrant, expressive landscape featuring a solitary tree with fiery red foliage reflected across shimmering turquoise waters. The dreamy pastel sky and bold, textured brushstrokes create a beautiful contrast of warmth and coolness, capturing a sense of serenity, mystery, and quiet reflection.
Acrylic on a 20"x20" canvas.
A quiet drift of colour and light — where the mind wanders, the heart softens, and stillness speaks. Layers of colour gently flow into one another, evoking a sense of calm, reflection, and quiet wonder. An invitation to pause, let go of the everyday, and lose yourself in the beauty of a fleeting moment.
Acrylic on a 12"x12" canvas.
A quiet threshold of warmth and light, capturing the instant when something held begins to unfold—gentle, unforced, and alive with possibility. A celebration of new beginnings, quiet beauty, and the delicate magic of letting go, as nature reveals its beauty one petal at a time.
Acrylic on a 24"x24" canvas.
A dreamy field of lavender-inspired blooms, where shades of purple, soft pink, and gentle green blend together in a dance of colour and texture, capturing the peaceful beauty and quiet magic of a summer garden.
[SOLD] Acrylic on a 24"x24" canvas.
This painting is my way of holding onto the warmth and beauty of autumn — those gentle golden days that fade too soon. Each brushstroke reminds me of peaceful walks under glowing trees and the calm that lingers in the air before winter arrives. A little piece of the season I love, kept close to my heart.
Acrylic on a 24"x24" canvas.
A glimpse of stillness and color meeting at the horizon. I wanted to capture that quiet, dreamlike moment where the world feels calm and endless — where little houses rest by the sea and peace lingers in the air.
Acrylic on a 20"x20" canvas.
I call it ‘Where Fire Meets Flower’ because it captures the moment of fusion between something delicate and natural and something powerful and untamed. That is, the fusion between the flower and fire.
Acrylic on a 12"x12" canvas.
Soft florals emerge through layers of light and texture, where warm peach, gold, and pastel tones gently collide. This acrylic piece explores quiet renewal, movement, and the fleeting beauty of a bloom in its most delicate moment.
Acrylic on a 12"x12" canvas.
A little piece of nature on canvas — a meadow of soft blooms and quiet colors. I painted this to capture the calm, gentle beauty that lives in the heart of spring.
Acrylic on a 12"x12" canvas.
Beauty doesn’t wait for permission—it grows, layers itself, and blooms in its own time. This painting celebrates the quiet strength of becoming, embracing the freedom to grow beyond expectations and unfold in our own way.

Time passed. Presence remained. Dedicated to the people of Sri Lanka who endured the devastating floods of November 2025. Through loss and uncertainty, may hope remain, strength endure, and the spirit of a nation continue to stand.

About the Artist
“Reflections of true human feelings expressed through brush strokes mingled with beautiful colors”
Originally from Sri Lanka and now based in Ottawa, Canada, I have been passionate about art since childhood. Inspired by my late father’s creative legacy, I find joy in exploring colour, texture, and emotion through abstract and landscape paintings. Painting gives me a wonderful way to slow down, observe the world and express what I feel through art.
My work has received recognition, including having my painting "Sailboats" featured as the cover photo for the Canadian Artist Association Facebook group in April 2023, and selections for the CAME (Canadian Association for Medical Education) Foundation Art Auction in 2024. Also my artworks are being displayed in the Rideau-Rockcliffe Family Medicine center.
My creative interests extend beyond painting, and I enjoy many different forms of making and creating. Through Art by Deepani, I invite you to share in my creative journey, where every painting tells a story and every colour holds a feeling.
